About Us

We’re a group of nerds hobby gaming enthusiasts in the Dayton, OH area who looked at all their bookshelves and realized they had way to many RPG books wanted to play something other than D&D and Pathfinder all the time. Thus the System Punks TTRPG Club was born.

Seasons

Our play tracks are divided into seasons that average out to be about 12 weeks long. These seasons are developed during the previous season where club members who want to run a new game can submit it as an event along with the number of seats at the table, where the game will take place, and when. So, GMs get to set their own schedule. It also gives us a way to have a more varied palette of gaming options.

End-of-Season Prizes

We also have a prize pool at the end of each season. The prizes are purchased through everyone in the club contributing to money in the form of dues at the beginning of the season to purchase the prizes. As a side note, paying dues also makes you eligible to pick from the pool during our end-of-season get-together.

Point System

Each player and GM accumulates points during the season. The points are accumulated by:

  • Attending a game session – You sign up for a game. You get a point for each session you are present for that game. Simple enough!
  • Run a game – If you run a game, you get a point. Oh, and no double points for showing up with this one. We know you’re going to show up. You wanted this! scheduled the game, but you deserve some recognition for keeping the club going.
  • Run a game for the club for first time – If you run a game that’s never been run at an official System Punks event before, you get an extra point for GMing. Again, you deserve some recognition for keeping the club going.
  • Most Valuable Player (MVP) – At the end of the session, all those at the table, GM included, decide who the best player was during that session. If you get the MVP for the session, you get an extra point. The GM is eligible for the MVP award.

During the end-of-season get-together, the point totals are announced. The club member with the most points gets to flaunt their greatness in the faces of everyone else and pick first from the prize pool. Everyone else follows suit in order of point total, and any ties are decided by trial by combat the members deciding among themselves who gets next pick.
